National Underdog Day honors the long shots, the little guys, and everyone who succeeds against the odds. It is credited to publicist Peter Moore, who wanted a day for unsung heroes, and it shares its name with the humble 1960s cartoon character Underdog. Observed on the third Friday of December, it
