Geminid Meteor Shower

December's meteor shower is the best of the year and almost nobody knows it.

The Geminid meteor shower peaks around December 13 to 14 each year. The Geminids are consistently one of the best showers of the year, producing up to 120 meteors per hour. Unlike most showers, they originate from 3200 Phaethon, an asteroid or extinct comet, making them scientifically distinctive.
