The day Siddhartha Gautama sat under a tree and became the Buddha.

Bodhi Day on December 8 is observed in Mahayana Buddhist traditions to commemorate Siddhartha Gautama's enlightenment under the Bodhi tree at Bodh Gaya. After a night of intense meditation, he achieved awakening and became the Buddha, gaining insight into the Four Noble Truths.
