National Beef Stroganoff Day celebrates the rich Russian dish of sauteed beef in a sour cream sauce. It is named after the Stroganov family, and an early recipe appears in a celebrated nineteenth-century Russian cookbook. From those aristocratic roots it spread worldwide, becoming a mid-century dinn
