National Cheeseburger Day

A hamburger with a little extra, and an opinion.

The cheeseburger is claimed by several inventors, but the most credible origin story places it at Lionel Sternberger's Pasadena, California restaurant "The Rite Spot" around 1926, when a 16-year-old fry cook apparently placed a slice of American cheese on a burger to see what happened. The rest is h
