National Mojito Day on July 11 celebrates Cuba's iconic rum cocktail: white rum, fresh lime juice, sugar, fresh mint, and soda water served over ice. The mojito has roots in 16th-century Cuba, where a predecessor drink called El Draque combined sugarcane spirit with mint and lime as a rough remedy.
